Is she back? Truly, I don't know. Over the past year, I stepped away from blogging to start my business Satsuma Swimwear and to live life. I thought I was finished, but found myself missing blogging and creating content. So much has happened in the past year (can't believe it's been a whole year!) I can't wait to catch you up on it, but I think we can get to that another time...because you need this blog post!!
We are officially in the season of new beginnings, fresh flowers, and of course, stylish dresses! In the past year I've particularly been having a dress obsession and since the temperatures have risen a bit I felt compelled to write this blog post about spring dresses and my favorite brands to shop for. But with so many fashion brands out there, where do you start? Fear not, because I've got you covered. In this post, I’ll highlight some of my favorite brands to shop spring dresses for a variety of budgets. Rather you're looking for graduation dresses, wedding dresses, date night dresses, or vacation dresses, you're in the right place!
Before we dive into the brands, let's take a look at some of the top trends for spring dresses this year. This season, we're seeing a lot of floral prints (groundbreaking, I know), metallic, and bright colors. Pastels are also a popular choice for a more subtle yet chic look. Flowy and oversized silhouettes are in, making maxi length dresses a perfect option for those warm days. We're also seeing a lot of ruching, drapery, cut outs, puff sleeves, and other feminine details that add an elevated trend element to the classic spring dress.
Now, let’s get into where to shop for dresses
Alice + Olivia is a contemporary brand for those who want to express their whimsical, flirtatious, and vintage sides. The sizes range from 0 to 14 and each item is a work of art. This season they have a ton of fabrics from denim to satin. If you can, I’d suggest shopping in store to have that in person experience. The dress I’m wearing in this post is from Alice & Olivia. The coral color is beautiful and would be perfect for a tropical wedding! Shop Alice & Olivia by using my link: https://glnk.io/4xj54/whitsaidso and code: WHITNEY15

These dresses are perfect for a fun celebratory occasion, birthday dress anyone?
H&M - Another fast-fashion brand, H&M offers affordable dresses that are both stylish and comfortable. They have a wide range of dresses, from basic cotton dresses to elegant cocktail dresses. I suggest their linen inspired fabrics or larger scale prints as they tend to look less cheap when shopping fast fashion.

I find myself gravitating more to this brand if I’m wanting to express a bit more of my feminine side. They have a modern take on dainty classics and marry trendy elements and classic details. I like these dresses for occasions like a date or for a wedding.

Norma Kamali - Norma Kamali will never lead us astray! I am convinced this woman makes the best dresses for a more contemporary, unique, sultry, and sexy feel. The draping technique seen in many of Norma Kamali’s dresses is a very simple way to camouflage certain parts of your body. I absolutely love how effortlessly sensual these dresses are. I would probbaly wear them for a night time occasion or some fun!
How to Style Dresses
Styling a dress is all about finding the right accessories to complement your look. For a casual look, pair your dress with sandals, sneakers, and a cropped jacket (bomber jacket, denim jacket, or something that feels relevant). For a more formal occasion, opt for high heels, statement earrings or a clutch. A belt can also be used to cinch your waist and add some definition to your silhouette. Don't be afraid to experiment with wearing tops over your dresses like a button down or a tie front top to casualize it a bit.
There are many brands to shop for the perfect spring dress, and I hope this guide was helpful to you! Remember to have fun with your look and experiment with different accessories to create your perfect spring outfit. Happy shopping!
